The Building Automation business unit is introducing an Austria-wide "tool for graphical plant specification and project management" based on Comos Basic and Comos P&ID.
Through the deployment of the tool, simplified project handling and thus enhanced efficiency are expected. Of special importance is the fact that the new concept covers the entire project lifecycle (sales – execution – service), whereby multiple entries can be minimised ("Enter Data Once"). The tool will enable the previously separate elements for schematic generation, function description, cable lists and data points lists to be combined under a common user interface. Interfaces to bidding and dimensioning programs and to technical programming tools are also realised and integrated in the overall concept.
Siemens Building Technologies offers products and custom-tailored system solutions for the technical infrastructure and safety of buildings. Long-term expertise from a variety of sectors is leveraged by a team of specialists so that customers can be sure to buy a solution that is perfectly geared to their individual needs.
The offerings from Building Automation cover the management and control of heating, ventilation and air conditioning systems as well as solutions for state-of-the-art building management systems. The systems employed ensure the efficient use of energy in buildings and the provision of optimum room conditions.
In addition to systems and solutions, the comprehensive service spectrum guarantees the long-term reliable utilisation of HVAC facilities and thus maximum protection of existing investments. The intelligent use of advanced technologies supports customers and partners in their core processes and activities and thus enhances their market competitiveness.
"Following a detailed analysis of different software products for the design of process engineering plants, Comos 9.0 was singled out as the product which permits end-to-end handling across all project phases. Its open architecture allows for any required extensions and supplementary functions particular to the workflow in question; all this can be implemented through client-specific customising. From the use of Comos 9.0 we expect both increased efficiency throughout project execution and enhanced quality in project handling and realisation, which we, as market leaders, owe our customers."
